Fuel Up Your Colonocytes with Energast
Fuel Up Your Colonocytes with Energast Max !
Physicians and dieticians have been recommending to consume more fibre through our daily meal. BUT, do you know why?
Recently I've came across an interesting product in Malaysia pharmacy, which contains sodium butyrate.
The product is called Energast Max.
So what's specific thing in this product piques my interest?
- Sodium Butyrate -
Non-starch polysaccharides @ Dietary fibres is undigestible because we, humans do not have the enzymes required to break down the bonds between each sugar molecule.
Butyrogenic bacteria in our colon digests the fibres through fermentation. Through this process, short chain fatty acids (SCFA) such as acetates, propionates and butyrates are produced.
Butyrates serves up to 90% as the main energy sources for these colonocytes. Other than that, butyrate also has anti-inflammatory action on gastrointestinal wall. It helps to maintain the protective mucosal layer in the guts while restoring the equilibrium of microbiota.
In addition, butyrate also plays a role in gastrointestinal motility. It promotes the absorption of mineral ions such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, chlorine and potassium as well as maintaining stool consistency.
Deficiency of butyrate may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, bloating, flatulence or cramps.
*TLDR;
In short, to maintain a healthy gut health, consumption of probiotics alone is not sufficient, you need to fuel them up!
There's Sodium butyrate in Energast Max !
